Naila and the Uprising is a personal portrait of Palestinian resistance leader Naila Ayesh, the woman who organized a women's civil resistance movement in 1987, during the First Intifada. Her brand of peaceful protests against the Israeli occupation caught the eye of other countries and brought visibility to the Palestinian cause. In this documentary film, historical records of the intifada are complemented by footage showing Naila's personal and family life, and the price she's had to pay to advance her political activism. The interviews show that women's central role in Palestinian resistance has been forgotten. This documentary, in a way, pays homage to the movement by portraying one of its key figures.

Her latest film, Naila and the Uprising (2017) had its world premiere at DOC NYC followed by IDFA and the Dubai International Film Festival.
