Rana Kazkaz y Anas Khalaf son una pareja sirio-francesa. El matrimonio vive actualmente en Doha (Catar), luego de haber tenido que dejar Damasco producto del conflicto en curso en Siria.
Escribieron y dirigieron cinco cortometrajes: Mare Nostrum, Searching for the Translator, Ham, Deaf Day y Kemo Sabe; y se encuentran trabajando en su primer largometraje: The Translator.

Rana Kazkaz and Anas Khalaf are Syrians with dual French citizenship. Married, they are currently living in Doha (Qatar) after having left Damascus as a result of the ongoing Syrian conflict.
They are the authors and directors of five short films: Mare Nostrum, Searching for the Translator, Ham, Deaf Day and Kemo Sabe; and are currently working on their upcoming first feature film, The Translator.
