"I am interested in the reactions of men towards women. How do friends, husbands, and relatives act around a woman?鈥 explains filmmaker Damien Ounouri. By means of a fairy tale, he tells the story of a woman who has a sensual experience triggered by the sound of the waves and the sand at the beach. With her absent partner in mind, she jumps into the water fully dressed and is then assaulted because of her femininity. Khindil el Bahr, which translates literally to 鈥渟ea lantern,鈥 is the story of a woman鈥檚 revenge against those who repress her merely because she exists.
