Dos solitarios en momentos opuestos de su vida se conocen accidentalmente en un agitado día de verano en un taxi del Cairo. Shawky y Doaa se encuentran inmersos en sus atareadas rutinas a medida que su carrera por la ciudad se convierte en un viaje de autoconocimiento que los reconecta con la vida.

Two lonely people at opposite chapters of life accidentally meet on a hectic summer day in a Cairo taxi. Frail old Shawky and bubbly young Doaa are both caught up in their busy routines as their race through the city evolves into a journey of self-discovery that reconnects them with life.

Nacido en 1978, Sherif Elbendary vive y trabaja en El Cairo. Se graduó del Instituto Superior de Cine del Cairo en 2007, donde enseña dirección de cine. Su primer corto de ficción Rise & Shine (2006) fue seleccionado oficialmente por más de 75 festivales alrededor del mundo. Con su corto Curfew, parte del largometraje colectivo 18 Days (2011) —ambientado en la Revolución egipcia—, Sherif fue seleccionado oficialmente para participar en Cannes. Actualmente, está trabajando en su primer largometraje Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim, pero sigue dirigiendo cortos, ya que admira el formato como medio para conseguir una narración concentrada.

Born in 1978, Sherif Elbendary lives and works in Cairo. He graduated from the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo in 2007, where he has been teaching film directing. His first short fiction film Rise & Shine (2006) was officially selected by more than 75 festivals around the world. With his short film Curfew, part of the collective feature 18 Days (2011), set during the Egyptian revolution, Sherif was officially selected for Cannes. He is currently working on his first feature film Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim but continues to direct short films as he admires the short form as a means of concentrated narration.
