El silencio y oraciones que forman parte de la rutina de un grupo de monjas del convento de la Orden de las Hermanas de la Misericordia en medio de un páramo cisjordano son interrumpidos cuando una familia de colonos israelíes religiosos choca su auto contra la pared del convento. Shabat se aproxima y necesitan llegar a casa urgentemente, sin embargo, debido a las leyes del Shabat, los israelíes no pueden utilizar el teléfono para llamar por ayuda y a su vez, las monjas han hecho un voto de silencio. Juntos deben idear un plan poco ortodoxo para ayudarlos a llegar a su casa.

Nuns of the Sisters of Mercy convent in the middle of the West Bank wilderness have their daily routine of silence and prayer disrupted when a family of religious Israeli settlers crash their car into the convent’s wall. The Sabbath is approaching and they need to get home urgently, however, because of Sabbath laws, the Israelis can’t operate a phone to call for assistance and, on the other hand, the nuns have taken a vow of silence. Together they have to come up with an unorthodox plan to help them get home.

El galardonado director Basil Khalil nació y se crió en Nazareth, hijo de padre palestino y madre británica. Luego de realizar un máster en la academia Screen de Escocia, Basil trabajó en varias producciones de televisión en Londres. En el 2011, Basil fue presentado por la revista Screen International como “uno de los diez mejores directores árabes para tener en la mira”. Basil vive actualmente en Londres, donde se encuentra desarrollando su primer guion para un largometraje.

Award winning director Basil Khalil was born and raised in Nazareth, to a Palestinian father and a British mother. After studying for an MA at the Screen Academy Scotland, Basil worked on a number of television productions in London. In 2011 Basil was featured by Screen International magazine as one of the “top ten Arab filmmakers to watch.” Basil currently resides in London where he is developing his debut feature screenplay.
