SINOPSIS
El puesto de control está cerrado y el taxista grita “¡Desvío, desvío!”, anunciando el comienzo de otra búsqueda incierta de una manera de circundar las barreras que restringen movimiento palestino en Cisjordania. Infiltrators es una road movie que registra los esfuerzos diarios que palestinos de todas las procedencias hacen cuando buscan rutas a través de, debajo de, alrededor de, y por sobre una desconcertante matriz de barreras.Luego de este “juego” de gato y ratón de gran riesgo con una cámara de mano, el documental debut de Khaled Jarrar fue el éxito destacado en el Dubai International Film Festival de 2012 al ganar el Premio al documental Muhr Arab, el premio especial del jurado, y el premio de la crítica internacional.
The checkpoint is closed: “Detour, detour!” a taxi driver shouts, announcing the beginning of yet another uncertain search for a way around the barriers curtailing Palestinian movement in the West Bank. Infiltrators is a visceral “road movie” that chronicles the daily travails of Palestinians of all backgrounds as they seek routes through, under, round, and over a bewildering matrix of barriers. Following this high stakes “game” of cat and mouse with a handheld video camera, Khaled Jarrar’s debut documentary was the standout success at the 2012 Dubai International Film Festival, winning the Muhr Arab Documentary Prize, the Special Jury Prize, and the International Critics Prize.
BIOGRAFÍA
Khaled Jarrar, nacido en Jenin (Palestina), completó sus estudios en Diseño de Interiores en la Universidad Politécnica Palestina en 1996 y luego entró en el campo de la fotografía en 2004. En 2011 se graduó como artista visual de la Academia Internacional de Arte en Palestina. Su primera exposición tuvo lugar en el espacio público en los puestos de control de Howarra y Qalandya. Jarrar comenzó a hacer películas y videos en el 2008. Participó en eventos internacionales de arte como Art Basel 41, Instant video, Festival de Cine de Londres, y y muchos más.
Khaled Jarrar, born in Jenin (Palestine), completed his studies in Interior design at the Palestine Polytechnic University in 1996 and then entered the field of photography in 2004. In 2011 he graduated as visual artist from the International Academy of Art in Palestine. His first exhibition took place in public space at the checkpoints of Howarra and Qalandya. Jarrar started making films and videos in 2008. He has taken part in international art events such as Art Basel 41, Instant video, London Film Festival, and many more.
