TRANSIT CITIES

Luego de 14 años, Laila regresa a su hogar e intenta retomar su vida anterior. Al regresar a Amán, desilusionada de la vida en el exterior, Laila intenta crear una nueva vida. Pero su pueblo natal del pasado es un lugar muy diferente. Aprisionada por varias presiones, la ciudad enfrenta no solo la amenaza del fundamentalismo, sino también la omnipresente influencia de la globalización. ¨Ciudades de tránsito¨ es la historia de gente joven que tras una larga ausencia, lucha por adaptarse y reconectarse con su familia y su país.

After 14 years Laila returns home and attempts to pick up her former life. Returning to Amman, disillusioned by life abroad, Laila tries to create a new life. But the simple hometown of her past is now a very different place. Beset by tensions on all sides, the city is facing not only the threat of fundamentalism but also the all-pervading influence of globalization. “Transit Cities” is the story of young people who struggle to adapt and reconnect with their family and country, after a long absence.

MOHAMMAD AL-HUSHKI nació en Jordania y trabajó con la Comisión Royal Film como director y enseñó dirección a jóvenes jordanos. Transit cities es la primera película respaldada por la Comisión Royal Film. 

MOHAMMAD AL-HUSHKI borned in Jordan and worked with the Royal Film Commission for two years as a Project Manager, teaching young Jordanians in filmmaking. Transit Cities is the first feature film to be supported by the RFC.
